Thomas Hooker and Samuel Stone are installed as Pastor and Teacher in October.

Thomas Shepard is installed as Pastor on February 1. Thomas Hooker and most of his congregation move to Hartford on June 1.

In a controversy concerning the interpretation of Scripture, Anne Hutchinson is tried in the Cambridge Meeting House.

The first statement of doctrine - The Cambridge Platform of Church Doctrine and Discipline - is completed in the Cambridge Meeting House.
