Shared Interest is a social investment fund which guarantees South African bank loans to community development financially engaged in South Africa's reconstruction process. Their work (and our socially responsibly “endowment loans” - over $30,000 as of January 2005) helps to strengthen grassroots organizations and enables them to provide increasing amounts of affordable credit for small business and social housing in South Africa's lowest income community.
