The Outdoor Church
The Outdoor Church/Cambridge is a ministry to homeless men and women in Cambridge. Short prayer services are held in Porter Square, outside the T station, at 9:00 am
and on the Cambridge Common at 1:00 pm, every Sunday, regardless of weather or season. All are welcome to attend these services. Following services, lay and ordained ministers carry sandwiches, juice and socks around Porter, Harvard and Central Squares where a meal and communion are offered to any homeless person encountered. The Outdoor Church is supported by member churches of the Harvard Square Clergy Association of which First Church is one. In early 2005, Rev. Jedediah Mannis, minister to the outdoor church, became an affiliate staff member at First Church. For more information, please call or email Rev.
