ADVENT, 2019. “WHAT IS HOLY?”

10 O’CLOCK HOUR STUDY AND MORNING WORSHIP SERIES

Sundays, December 1, 8, 15, and 22

10:00 a.m., in the Harter Room, and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary

Advent hymns and Scripture are filled with holiness. “O holy night!” “Silent night! Holy night!” The holy family and the holy child!  We sing and celebrate in our Sanctuary, even as we explore creating and offering sanctuary to others. “Sanctuary” is from the Latin sanctus for holy!  In Advent we await the birth of holiness in our lives and in our world. How do we have the strength to search for the holy in the midst of an increasingly chaotic world, and in the midst of a season of profane consumption and commercialism?  Join us in Morning Worship and for our 10:00 a.m. Advent Study, as we ask, “What is holy?” How can we prepare for it together? How can we create space, time, and awareness of holiness in our lives, in our bodies, and in our world?
