Virtual Epiphany Service and Epiphany Candlelit

  • Date: Wednesday, January 6, 2021
  • Time: 6:00pm6:30pm EST
  • Location: First Church Front Lawn

Wednesday, January 6, is Epiphany, and with it a new liturgical season is upon us. Usually we would gather for a potluck feast and special service during which we sing in the chapel, give thanks for the Light of Christ, carry that light throughout our darkened building, ring our sanctuary with beeswax tapers, and end in the chancel for a renewal of our baptismal vows. This year, please join us online for a 25-minute virtual Epiphany service that you can view on our YouTube channel anytime after 7:00 a.m. (The video will appear as unavailable until January 6 at 7 a.m.)

On the evening of Epiphany at 6:00 p.m., we will gather on the church lawn to embark on a 30-minute candle-lit prayer walk around the Cambridge Common. Bring the kids, or a friend, or come alone to greet other FCC members and friends as we share the Light of Christ, now born in us and in our world. Please wear a mask and plan to observe safe distancing practices. If you come late, just look across to the Common for the (electric) candlelight to find us.
