Harvard and the Legacy of Slavery Film and Discussion
- Date: Sunday, May 1, 2022
- Time: 12:15pm–1:30pm EDT
- Location: Hybrid: Margaret Jewett Hall and via Zoom
This past week, the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and the Initiative on Harvard and the Legacy of Slavery released a substantial report on Harvard’s history with recommendations for reparative action. Given First Church’s historic connection to Harvard and this legacy, Dan Smith has been a member of the faculty committee guiding this initiative. We will engage
in learning and reflection about this work starting today at 9:30 a.m., when we will view a 25-minute film about Harvard’s legacy. We will also hold an after-worship discussion about the committee’s report and recommendations. Please join us!
