Juneteenth Morning Worship

Our Morning Worship on June 19 will lift up the themes of freedom and liberation, with a special focus on Juneteenth, commemorating the abolition of slavery. The service will feature poetry from our own Jean Dany Joachim. Carlyle Stewart, our Community Minister of Racial Justice will offer a reflection. We will also offer a public reading of names and a commemoration of all the enslaved persons associated with First Church over the years. Worship with us, as we lift our hearts in this service of commemoration and commemoration.  We will also offer an update on our Reparations Fund and related efforts.  In addition, at 3 p.m., the Cambridge Black History Project, led by First Church member Paula Paris, invites us to join them for a ceremony at the Old Burial Ground honoring the enslaved persons who are buried there.
