UCC Aid Appeal for Ukraine

April 14, 2022

In late February,  the United Church of Christ made an appeal to local churches to help Ukrainians find safety, inside and away from their country.  Donations now top over $1 million and more is needed.  According to Connie Larman at ucc.org:

As Russia’s war on Ukraine rages on, so does the suffering of the country’s people. And they have been leaving their homes in record numbers. Donors in the United Church of Christ see them and have stepped up to send help. As of April 7, the United Church of Christ (UCC) Ukraine appeal has raised over $1 Million to help Ukrainians. The response to the UCC’s emergency appeal for Ukraine has been unprecedented. Some 3,700 donors have given more than $1 million to the effort, launched days after Russia attacked Ukraine on Feb. 24. The $1,073,208 in gifts as of April 5 may be the church’s largest international relief effort ever.

Through work with our European partners, gifts are being distributed in support of over 100 shelters and by bringing food and other much-needed goods directly to refugees.
