Men's Breakfast

Gentle men of First Church! Join us on the first Saturdays of each month (September to June) for a hearty breakfast and even heartier conversations about topics that connect our faith to our lives and our world. Mark your calendars now, and plan to join us regularly. The breakfasts are in the Hastings Room, 8:00 - 9:30 a.m.  One-time visitors, friends, and newcomers are always welcome.

Also, we have an annual Men's Retreat in Jaffrey New Hampshire, usually on a weekend in early June.  Questions?  Contact David Torrey.  And check out this youtube video of our 2016 retreat with thanks to Rob Cooper for the filming and editing!

The dates for our Saturday morning breakfasts for the second half of 2016 are: September 10, October 1, November 5 and December 3. If you'd like to sign up for the Men's Breakfast e-mail list to receive monthly reminders, contact Kirsten Manville,

Saturday, June 8 – Sunday, June 9, Jaffrey, NH

The Men’s Breakfast is hosting the annual Men’s Retreat in Jaffrey, NH, to cap off a year of our monthly fellowship gatherings. We invite all First Church men to bucolic Jaffrey, NH, for a weekend of outdoor recreation, simple meals, and heartfelt discussion, beginning Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 10:00 a.m. Sunday. As in past years, Marc O’Brien will host a lakeside cook-out at his Gilmore Pond cottage, and David Torrey will provide a fireside dinner and overnight at his family’s historic homestead on the village green. The agenda is casual, meal assignments are shared, carpooling for the scenic 90-minute drive is encouraged, and the memories are warm. Come for all or part of the timeframe, but your RSVP is required. To sign up, please contact David:
