the glory of god
What comes to mind when you hear the phrase, “the glory of God?” Radiant light, blaring trumpets, the impression of overwhelming might? When the shepherds heard the announcement of Jesus’ birth, “an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them.” And yet this angel was not announcing the arrival of a dominating army, a wealthy ruler, or a powerful king. Instead, the glory of God comes to us vulnerable, weak, needing care – as one destined for the cross. This Advent, join us in worship and community as we consider the glory of God in the body of a baby. Let us bring all our assumptions of what glory looks like and turn them upside down, into a manger.
